Île de Ré, France

Île de Ré, France

Île de Ré (or Isle of Rhé in English) is a small island (30 km long and 5 km wide) off the West coast of France.

Renowned for its natural beauty and tranquility of life, Île de Ré has long been a popular destination (especially among Parisiens and other French folks) for those seeking a true five star vacation.

With a near constant light breeze, cool waters and plenty of beachfront, Île de Ré makes for the perfect family vacation destination year-round.

Sites to See

A vacation in Île de Ré is all about peacefulness and relaxation.  There aren’t a whole lot of sites to see.

What you will most enjoy when visiting are the simple things like the photogenic villages, golden beaches and scenic ports.

If you’re looking for wild parties, Île de Ré is not the place to go. However, if you’re looking for more laid-back good times, Île de Ré is an excellent choice.

Popular daytime activities include cycling around the island or exploring on horseback.

In terms of night life, Île de Ré is quite tame. Walking along the quays, visiting potter shops, dining on local delicacies (particularly seafood) at local restaurants, watching the buskers play, and eating homemade artisan ice cream are pretty much the main fare.

Casinos in Île de Ré

If you’re looking to do some gambling while vacationing in Île de Ré you won’t have to go far. Just head on over to the nearby town of Châtelaillon to visit the Châtelaillon casino where you can enjoy your favorite casino games, as well as the local bar, disco and more.
