Visit Ireland

Ireland is a country that amazes the senses from every perspective, whether scenic, urban or cultural.  Discover the Emerald Isle of rolling hills, spectacular metropolitans and rich traditions.

Sites to See

Whether you want to travel by land or sea, Ireland’s marvelsare there for you to uncover.  For a truly exceptional view, visit Giant’s Causeway along the Northeast coast of Northern Ireland which consists of 40,000 interlocking columns naturally created through an ancient volcano.  This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the source of many legends and myths, including those about Finn McCool.

For the city traveler, both Dublin and Belfast offer awe inspiring sights combined with small town friendliness.  Dublin’s National Gallery of Ireland, Writers Museum and numerous castles are spectacles to behold, while Belfast is a hub of creativity exhibiting diverse arts with the Grand Opera House, Ulster Museum and many famous political murals.

Irish cuisine is rich and hearty, based on the natural growing foods of the land.  A main staple, the infamous Irish stew combines the best ingredients by bringing together lamb or mutton, potatoes, carrots, onions and parsley.

Of course no discussion about Irish cuisine is complete without a mention of Guinness, the dry stout.  Originated in Ireland, Guinness is famous for its dark color and heavy taste, often described as having a “tang”.

Famous People

Many famous people have hailed from Ireland, but the most impressive list is the number of remarkably talented, and often witty, writers.  James Joyce, Bram Stoker, Jonathan Swift and Oscar Wilde have all left a lasting mark on literary history and all have called Ireland home.
